Shopping for School Clothes? Dress for Success!
Dress in a manner that contributes to the total quality of education in our school.
Shoes must be worn at all times and should be comfortable and protective for children on the playground.
Coats should be worn during cold weather.
Hats and sunglasses may only be worn outside.
Clothing items that are not school appropriate include:
Short shorts or skirts (short/skirts must extend to just above the knee or lower).
Tank tops, sleeveless shirts, bare midriffs or backs, and/or see through clothing.
Clothing that advertises or displays drugs, alcohol, or tobacco.
Clothing displaying profane, vulgar, or crude pictures, slogans, or words.
Hair color or make-up that is extreme and disruptive to the learning environment.
“Heelies”-type shoes (the wheels may be removed and kept at home).
H. Guy Child Elementary is located in the city of South Ogden, Utah. It is named after Henry Guy Child who served as the first mayor of South Ogden and who also served on the Weber School District Board of Education. The school was constructed in 1965 with an additional wing being added on in 1978. It serves the residents of South Ogden who live south of Highway 89 and also the residents of lower Uintah. It is part of the Weber School District and includes grades K-6. The population of the school is approximately 510 with 50 full and part-time staff members.
